Cleft lip and palate

by Sarah

I was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. I have had 14 operations so far and have more operations left!

At times it is hard being different to everyone else, and when people say horrible comments or look and stare at you then you realise that you are different to them purely because I HAVE A SCAR!

Surgery can be hard. I hate going into hospital but deep down I know it's for the best. After I have recovered from the op I am ok and feel much better about myself.

Over the years I have become a lot more confident in myself!

My friends and family have been amazing!
